Donald E. Crockett, MD General and Vascular Surgeon

Dr. Crockett joined Midland Surgical Associates (MSA) in 1996 and has been an associate with us since that time. His areas of specialty include treatment of lower extremity varicose veins and leg swelling, vascular access, carotid disease, laparoscopic ventral hernia repair, and wound care.

He has admitting privileges at Midland Memorial Hospital and holds an appointment as Clinical Professor of Surgery at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. A diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Crockett holds board certifications in both General Surgery and Peripheral Vascular Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Texas Surgical Society, and a former past president of the J. B. Aust Surgical Society.

Dr. Crockett is a West Texas native who graduated from Rice University in Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio in 1976. He continued his general surgery training at the University of Texas Medical Center, finishing a five-year surgical training program in 1981. He then began a general surgery private practice in Big Spring that he continued until 1993.

At that time, Dr. Crockett decided to pursue his interest in vascular surgery, so he returned to training at the Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, after which he returned to his roots in West Texas and joined MSA.

Dr. Crockett was born and raised in West Texas and resides in Midland with his wife, Sandra. He has two grown children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he loves to read, play golf, and travel.
